A research team from An-Najah National University has achieved a significant scientific accomplishment by publishing the first Palestinian scientific paper on Artificial Intelligence (AI) policies in education in the international journal Leadership and Policy in Schools, published by the renowned Taylor & Francis.
The research team consisted of Professor Aallam Mousa, Director of An-Najah Innovation Garden, Professor Saed Al-Khayat from the Scientific Centers, and Dr. Suhail Salha from the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences.
Prof. Mousa explained that the study relied on a mixed methodology combining both quantitative and qualitative data. It highlighted AI policies in Palestinian schools, revealing a lack of awareness among teachers about using AI and the varying perceptions about its integration into education. The study also presented a comprehensive policy framework for the ethical and effective use of AI, which contributes to enhancing the quality of education and stimulating innovation.
In turn, Prof. Al-Khayat emphasized that this achievement reflects An-Najah National University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and developing educational policies that contribute to building a more advanced educational future, despite the challenges facing the education sector and Palestine in general.
For his part, Dr. Salha pointed out that providing a framework for AI policies in education will establish the regulation of the relationship between the continuous rise in AI applications and their use in student education, teacher training, and curriculum integration, all the way to higher education.
