Award for High Impact Scientific Research An-Najah National University

Goals

  • Encouraging faculty members to transfer their knowledge to the world and create a ‎friendly environment that attracts the youth

Awards

First:

  1. An award given for publishing in “Science” or “Nature” Journals or journals of an impact factor (IF) of ≥ 10. This award offers 4000 USD awarded to author/s form An-Najah National University distributed according to researchers contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution.
  2. An award for publishing in scientific journals of an impact factor of 5 ≤IF < 10. This award  offers 3000 USD awarded to author/s form An-Najah National University distributed according to researchers contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution.
  3. An award given for publishing in journals with an impact factor of 1.5 ≤IF < 5. This award offers 2000 USD awarded to author/s form An-Najah National University distributed according to researchers contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution.
  4. An award given for publishing in journals with an impact factor of 1 ≤IF < 1.5. This award offers 1000 USD awarded to author/s form An-Najah National University distributed according to researchers contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution.
  5. An award given for publishing in journals with an impact factor < 1. This award offers 500 USD awarded to author/s form An-Najah National University distributed according to researchers contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution. (Form 1)

Second:

Patent Awards for patents that are registered in one of the European countries, the USA or Canada, provided that an essential part of the research (based on which the patent was applied for) is done at An-Najah National University. The award offers 2000 USD awarded to the patent researcher from An-Najah if s/he was a single author; or else, the award is distributed according to researchers’ contribution whether they were from An-Najah or any other institution. Application Criteria

  1. Researcher applicant must be staff from An-Najah National University or in an official sceintific mission outside the University. Applicants must fill out the application form for one work and cannot apply in the next year for the same work.
  2. Researchers who are in an unpaid leave or have reached retirement age are allowed to apply for the awards according to the application criteria.
  3. The submitted work must include that the researcher is a staff at An-Najah National University.
  4. If the researcher has more than one job title, the one that belongs to An-Najah National University is mentioned first.
  5. The staff member can submit one work only for the above-mentioned awards in one year.
  6. Research papers must be published during the year prior to applying for the award.
  7. The research submitted for the reward should not have received any support from grants offered by the University. If the research submitted for the reward has been supported by sources external to the University, the applicant must provide a declaration confirming that they have not received any financial benefit from the grant-giving entity.
  8. Accepted research papers must be full articles. Letters to the editor are not accepted.
  9. The award is offered to one participant on behalf of the other members after being authorized to do so in the form prepared for this purpose.

Application Procedure

  1. Application date: applications are submitted in March of each year.
  2. Required documents to apply for each award:
    • Concerning “First” (a, b, c, d and e), a copy of the submitted research must be attached in addition to the curriculum vitae for each participant.
    • Concerning “Second”, patent registration letter and name of the registering country must be attached as well as the curriculum vitae for the participants.
  3. Consent form must be attached with the submitted documents.

Evaluation and Assessment Process

The Evaluation Committee review the submitted applications at the beginning of April to make sure that they match the criteria and to identify the Award Value for each applicant. Then the Committee submits the names of the award’s recipients to the University President for approval.

Winners Announcement

The winners’ names are announced on the University website as well as the University Newsletter, and the award is offered by holding a ceremony under the patronage of the University President.
