Bioactivity Screening and Drug Discovery

Our group is a specialized research group focused on exploring and developing targeted therapeutic agents. It primarily focuses on discovering and designing new pharmaceutical compounds for the treatment of chronic and complex diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease), and diabetes. The group aims to utilize advanced medicinal chemistry methods and drug discovery techniques to identify natural and synthetic compounds that may be effective in treating these diseases.

The group's work revolves around several key objectives:

Exploring Active Compounds: Researching nature and other chemical sources to discover compounds that may have therapeutic efficacy.

Developing Targeted Drugs: Designing and developing drugs that target molecular mechanisms associated with diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

Innovation in Treatments: Providing new solutions for treating intractable diseases that currently have no effective treatments.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: The group focuses on collaboration between pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacology to achieve its therapeutic goals.

The group has achieved notable scientific successes, contributing to the publication of many research articles in prestigious scientific journals. Dr. Hawash has been honored for his outstanding work in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, both locally and internationally."
